Retro,
Doesn't Scag make a new floating deck model? The 17 Kawi and the floating deck (along w/ other new features on that model?) might explain the price difference.

I would go with the Exmark Lazer. Worth every penny. Fast height adjustment. Doesn't scalp. Cuts at a good speed. Solid construction. Comfortable seat. Compact. Turns on a dime.

I have prices in front of me that are lower than those listed by a significant amount.Email retrolawn@interlink-bbs.com for details. It may take a couple of days sometimes to get a response, since I travel often. Also, I edited this post before to say that was not the Ultimate jsteveharris was correct, Skag doesn't make the 14 48" in the ultimate. I have a fixed deck and a floating deck mower. I prefer the fixed deck Dual hydro Ferris.
John

There's an idea for a new forum. Everyone could contribute prices that they get on new equipment so future buyers have some idea of the price they should be able to get.

mowman--as I read your post here do I understand you to say that the only way to get a professional cut is with an exmark? that's a pretty good knock at all the other good machines out there.
GEO

retro, scag does not make a ultimate 48" with a 14 kawa. They make a 36" with a 15hp kohler and the 48" comes with the 17hp Kawa.
I know this because I own one and looked at all the options for the scags when I bought this one. So, therefore your dealer may have a inferior machine.
----------
Steve Harris
From The Ground Up Landscaping

There's no question this years Scag now has most all the same features of an Exmark. It's gotta be a nice machine.
