diffrence between granula and liquid fert?
What is the difference between those? I only use granular fert but I know that some people use both? Why?
Thanks! |

From my understanding they will use a liquid when applying fert, pre-m and post-m weed control to speed up the process. and the basic diff between the two is liquid will be very fast acting with a shorter effective period because its available almost instantly. Where a granular has to break down and generally lasts longer. BUT i'm sure there are other reasons which someone more knowledgable will be able to explain.

Liquid Ferts are quicker but don't last as long. Granular last longer but takes a little more time to kick in.

Not a problem on turf cut at over 1", but on low cut grasses like bermuda, bent and zoysia maintained with a reel mower, granules get stuck on the surface. Liquids are easier to water in. Also, I can see uneven greening in a lawn done with granules.
