I hate when that happens. A small company recently came by and offered $49.95 to most people on a street. My price for the customer was was $99. Lawn is about 22 thousand sq ft. Customer sent me a copy of most of the quote paperwork. Customer called and asked if I could come down--not that much. Customer called competition's office and asked if the price was correct--office girl said its "good for the year, but might have to be readjusted next year." Sigh.

thats a load of sh-t, it would cost me probably that much in
product to treat a lawn that size, at least that company is
only hurting themselves in the long run.

you guys ever hear from new customers " well your a small business,
so you have less overhead , and you should have a lower price"

riggles is in a different market than us, but how could it possibly cost you that much in product 2 bags of dimension is like 40.00-46.00 asuming its a good lawn you wouldnt be spraying broadleaf on the whole lawn. other rounds w/ no control are cheaper than dimension..how do you come up w/ that?

Just an observation here. I don't use the fert/pre-emerg products but let's say it did cost Riggles 40-46 bucks in material. best case scenario he'd make $9.95 meeting the comp's price. That doesn't include fuel to get there... I'm sorry, but that's peanuts no matter what market you do business in. If they see that big of a price difference and can't smell a RAT,then they deserve each other LOWBALLER+ CHEAPSCATE... A match made in heaven!

when i would go out on an estimate and the homeowner would tell me he is paying alot less than my quote i would tell him prehaps that's why he is unhappy and looking for new service. you get what you pay for... a 100.00 job being charged 50.00 is get that ... 50.00 worth of service

Are you any different from your competition? If you're offering the same blah package - then price will generally be the focus.

You need to separate yourself from the herd. You need to be able to convey to the homeowner that a price comparison is apples to oranges: and here's why... !!

If you offer no distinction in your service, you may as well low ball with the rest...
