The board trick works pretty well if you load your mowers in the same order every time. The problem is I usually load my mowers in different orders depending on which job I am heading to next. I wound up taking the boards off and using ratchet straps instead.

When you use ratchet straps on a walk behind where should i run the straps and also where should i place the mower?

Kinda depends on where you park the mower on the trailer. I usually park my walk behind with the front casters up against the rail on the side of the trailer. Route the strap from the rail around the casters, then back to the rail. Your setup may be different though.

Say i am only towing 1 walk behing where should i position it?

i am think side ways over the axle?
or should i put it in the front of the trailer?

Ok, i know i need to get prolockers or fastraps but untill i can get them what can i do as far as positioning goes

drive the mower up to the front of trailer and ratchet strap the forks.

Exactly. Works great, and ratchet straps are cheap. If it's too much weight on the front of the trailer, then you can park it sideways over the axle and strap the forks to the side rail.

Rachet straps for me too. Just put some eye bolts in the floor of the trailer with large fender washers.
