98 Chev 350 Intake Manifold Leaker

Anyone ever change an intake manifold gasket on the Chev 5.7 Vortec?

I have a very small antifreeze leak at the intake gasket and I am trying to see if there are any tricks or landmines before I tear it off. I am positive it is a gasket as we did a pressure test and can see where it is leaking. The funny thing is that when it warms up it doesn't leak, I know it is expanding and sealing the leak.

So any tips for me before I start. I usually get into something and have problems so any help will be appreciated.

I've had the same type of leak on my Ford 302, I had it fixed at a shop, and it cost me about $300.00 parts and labor.

I would be sure look-up the specs in the manual, and be sure to torque to specs.

Just replace it,it happens to all of them sooner or later,usually sooner.

Whew,
I just remembered that I bought the extended warranty for the truck and when I opened it up I found that I have it covered until 2004 or 75k miles.

The deductable is 200.00 and I also get a rental to burn around in all day.

Yee Haw..

It goes in Thursday at 7 am.

Thank God its in the off season, I can't see pulling the trailer with a Corsica.

My buddy has the same truck and has been leaking for a year. Obviously it will get worse sooner or later but he has just left it for now. Two different garages said it will be $400 to $500 to fix. You might as well use that warranty, that's what you bought it for. They are relatively easy to do but why bother, let them do it.
