I read that on HEF 2 days ago, what a waste, I'll bet the kid even lied about his age too, but still, it's never a good way to lose your life.

Wow. That poor kid. That must've been awful. Just goes to show you that it is dangerous out there and you can never let your guard down.

I make it a point to chain the gate on the truck down tight when I've got guys behind it doing something like filling wheelbarrows to get to a curber or something.

My only question is what was the kid doing behind the truck that he was completely buried by a load?

The article says he might have been behind the box as it was raising up, but the tailgate must have gotten stuck, so he gave it a few hits with a hammer, and the gate accidentally popped completely open. Either that or the tail gate slider door was stuck and the truck driver mistakenly released the air latches for the main gate, who knows.

Wow. That is terrible. I had to pull an unconcious man off of his truck when a silo dumped on his cab. The asphalt flowed in up to his knees and lap, once it took out the windshield. He made a partial exit by himself but was knocked unconcious in the process.

Untimely demise

There was a prisoner here in GA working at a waste treatment plant that fell in to one of the "ponds" and could not swim.
