i am trying to decide between a br600 or an ebz7001. i had a eb7001 (nonstrato charged) blower that i really liked and was bulletproof until i left it at a job only to never see again. i know both are fine machines but i am having trouble trying to decide..........which one would you purchase......

Why are you deciding between the BR600 and the EBZ7001, as opposed to the 8001? In terms of power, wouldn't the BR600 be the clear choice in this contest? Or are there other factors you're considering?

You can take Redmax, and "Strato Charging" and shove it where the sun don't shine. I have had nothing but trouble with Redmax products; specfically their BCZ3001 weed eater's, lasted only one season, and shocked the crap out of you when starting it. Stihl FS250R weed eaters, MS290, MS200T chain saws, HS81/HS81R hedge trimmers, and Shindy EB630 blowers.

i am looking for a powerful light weight blower. i also have an echo pb651t that has plenty of power but is heavy. everyone i know that has a 8000 or an 8001 has had nothing but problems. the eb 7001 was very reliable and plenty of blower for any job, but they dont make it anymore......

Based on what I know, I vote Stihl.

I understand. I had to have one of our 8000's replaced (it was outside its warranty, but my dealer was very determined), due innumerable problems; however, since that time - over a year and a half ago - both units have performed flawlessly. And I agree with your assessment respecting the now defunct eb7000/1's, as I have two units: one is eight years old and the other is five, cosmetically they're tired, but they both still blow strong.

I would definitely go with BR600. Two years no problems except replacing the gas lines from the tank. The lines are hard lines from the factory that become brittle over time. I have always bought Shindaiwa, but after demoing the EB8510, EBZ7001, EBZ8001 and BR600 I went with the BR600. Way more comfortable and to me more powerful. I know the numbers show the EB8510 and EBZ8001 more powerful, but to me the BR600 felt stronger. You will not be disappointed.

I have the BR600. No problems in 2 years. When the gas tank gets low, it will sputter when you bend over, but this is not a mechanical problem, just time to refill with gas.
