Kill monkey grass

I have a customer that wants to remove a bunch of monkey grass and replace it with sod. I was wondering what will kill monkey grass if anything will or do i just have to dig it all up. I really dont want the monkey grass coming back up through the sod

Triclopyr ester and 2,4-D ester. This is a perennial lily distant cousin to wild onion or wild garlic Forget RoundUp. This is strictly off label, but low rates of glyphosate will kill weeds in monkey grass(Ophiopogon japonicus). I have seen a 1% RoundUp application smoke everything but the Ophiopogon. But to be safe it is used at 0.1%-0.2%. For applications intended to kill everything in a renovation situation, I have used 1 qt Garlon ester, 1 qt Fusilade and 3 qt RoundUp.
