It's a 3pt hitch. It lifts hydraulicly via the levers to the left of the steering wheel.

I bought my first JD 318 in 1987. One of the best garden tractors out there.

Here's an example of a plug pulled with a walk-behind:
Actually the core is quite small. He just has tiny hands! : ) LOL

I missed this thread last fall. What width did you end up going with? I recall last spring you were looking. That looks like an excellent setup. How does it do pulling cores out of the ground?

I like that old 318.

So what do YOU use on 5 acres of athletic turf? Your 28" Walk-behind?

thought i'd bring this back from the way back

i was searching to see if they still make this aerator.

looks like i bought it in 08. thought i remember paying about $600-$700 for it shipped. looks like their around $1200-$1300 now.

still use it works pretty good. i now have bar tractor tires on the tractor which made a huge improvement.

I've used my Fathers 318 to pull my friends 48" Lesco pull behind aerator this past Spring. Pulled it no problem. Had 3 - 80lb retaining wall blocks on it. It was the retractable tire kind.

3pt hitch kits are NOT cheap for the 318's anymore. Would love to have one though!
