Do you charge for Edging?

We keep all our regular customers on a 3wk edging cycle. We have not charged extra for this for several years & include it as part of regular lawn maint. Was talking to competitor the other day, and he says" Oh, I hit em' up for $40 or $50 every month for edging". He is a smaller operator in our area but.... maybe its time??? Ideas, thoughts..

I edge all my lawns that's how I get customers. I use my weedwacker, but if they want that fresh deep crisp edge I charge more for using my edger that sits in my garage.

Edging should just be included in your weekly least that's what I do.

I do it every week too.

Oh boy, you dont know how big of a can of worms you just opened.

In three years on my own I've only had one customer ask for edging of their sidewalks. I went out and bought a stick edger and started asking customers if they would be interested in the service and the ones I asked said no.

But, yes I do charge for edging. The area I work in it is an extra. You will see it is a regional thing for who charges extra and who doesn't.

We stick edge each week. Its included in the monthly maintenance fee. If a new customer has a very overgrown edge, we charge extra. That hasn't happened in years.

It's included in my weekly service unless the property has a lot of concrete to edge. Then I just bid in an extra 5 bucks to the weekly mow and explain it to the customer.
