Looking for a saw.

Hello all

I'm looking at getting a gas cut off saw. Now I've rented a Stihl and used a Partner both which did what I've asked them to do. But you guys have any other input on other brands to look at?

I'm partial to the Partner myself. I've found Stihls very difficult to start up and work with. But, you ask 50 installers, and I bet you'll get 50 different opinions.

lol yeah im a stihl guy.... igot a 12 and 14 inch cut off. i love them i use the 12 for pavers and the 14 for aspault and garden block....its good when u need a little more HP or a little more depth with the cut.... the 14 is a little to heavy for pavers. its a work out

I bought a saw and 12 blades for like 1200 they have these deals all the time the blades even held up great you can mix and match they have stihl and partner saws. I love my stihls they are light for making long cuts get a 14" and you can put a 12" paver blade on it.

i have a makita ( made by sachs dolmar)...
it has been a very good saw...

also i agree with getting the 14", as you can always install a 12" blade on the saw.

For some dumb reason I have always had a 14" on our Stihl and just this year got a 12". I think it is better when cutting for the soldier course. I like Stihl but have always had Stihl chainsaws and weedeaters.

Thanks guys I'll probably end up with either a stihl or a partner.
