Shindaiwa EB802 ... first impressions

I picked up the new blower on Friday so I had to wait til today to really use. I did blow out my trailer and my truck over the weekend, but today was the first real use.

1. Comfort- extremely comfortable....lots of padding on the straps and the back. I have the 8510 and the 630 and the new one is far more comfortable then the previous 2.

2. Weight - it's a pound or 2 more than the 630 and a 2 less than the 8510 so it works for me.

3. Power - WOW....way stronger than the 630 and feels about the same as the 8510....I checked the site for specs and the volume at the nozzle is the same and it feels that way.

4. Design- Is along the same lines as the others but seems a little thinner but taller. This is of course meaningless. The tubing is nice....though a little long (and I am 6 ft) it was actually making my forearm sore holding it firmly. It is the same length as the 630, but thicker. It has a nozzle piece you can use if you take of the longer last section and replace it with said piece. With this on, it is the same length as the 8510.

So there you have it.....after one day. No idea about reliability (obviously) but I have had good luck with Shindaiwa.

After 2 days, it seems to be the same as other 2 cycle blowers....no better, no worse. Of course, I am only familiar with Shindy and Echo.

How would you rate comfort after a period of use on the EB802 vs. the EB8510?

comfort on the 802 is FAR SUPERIOR to the 8510. There was something about the 8510 that always made my back sore if I had 3 or more yards at one stop...don't know if it was the couple of extra pounds or distribution of the weight that did it. THe main thing on the comfort level is all the extra padding on the straps and back...on the back, there is like an extra thick pad that sits on you lower back that is real comfortable.

Are you ever in Hamilton Park or Palm Cove or Ashton Oaks or New River?

I don't have any accounts in Ashton Oaks or New River but I drive by both on my way to the others as well as Meadow Point. I would love to see the 802 if you have the time and don't mind.

$465 out the door. Reg price was $500. Shindy's promo price is $450. My dealer sold it to me for $435 plus tax.
