May try on my house, where to go, what to get?

Hey Guys,
I have been looking into holiday lighting for some time. I would like to give it a try on my property and see how it goes.

It seems that most use c7's or c9's. I am looking to outline roof lines, windows, and hang wreaths on the windows and garland on the deck railings/poles.

Also, I have a few trees at the driveway entrance and in the front yard I would like to wrap up, any suggestions?

Any ideas or suggestions on what to get, where to get, etc?

How do you guys get the lights to the perfect length? Just cut and add a plug?

These questions have been answered dozens of times, try to read through the past 5 pages of threads for a great education on Christmas lights.

most installers use c9/c7 cord off of a 1000 ft spool and cut and add a plug when needed.

use a painters extendable pole for placing mini's in small trees, and try your hand at tight wrapping the trunk and a few branches at night.

most bulk cord is good on the internet, the best IMO is from leico electric. the worst is probably actionlighting.com, That is from experience.
