Minimax would be the guy to answer this, since he had a C and upgraded to a D. A lot of improvements I'm sure though.

Hitachi widened the pilot controls out more for more room and they always update the hydraulic and engine output a wee bit, but not much as far as esthetics, they still need to work on the cab design, doors and get the aux. and swing boom functions on the pilot controls.

Ok here we go,The D got a better track frame than the C's,The cab tilts on the D's to get to alot of stuff like hoses, swing motor, rotary manifold, starter, valve bank, and some more stuff. The D's have a better cab,but the C's have a bigger cab door
.The D's are much faster than the C's.My C burned much less fuel than my D. the D's are more stable than the C's and are not as tall. They are both good mini-x's And the D's come with A/C.Here are pic's of my C and D mini's minimax

Yes, the old C's did have a bigger door, and I find the cab was better for leg room, but the D's now have that goofy 2 piece door. The new Hitachi Dash 4's (call them Deere's D2 series) has the wider stance in the pilot controls, if you are looking at a used D, make sure you measure the pilot spacing, they will be about 3" in difference, those are the updated series.

Thanks for the info guys! I have been noticing a few C's for sale around here both 27 and 35s. Although the seem a little on the high priced side IMO
