lighting designs via eBay

Seems this gal is local.

I'd like to find out who she is.

Interesting concept... I see she has not made one 'sale' though. I wonder how it will pan out for her.

Remember the guys on Monty Python's Flying Circus doing bad imitations of ladies? I am suspicious of this "girl" and the e-bay thing. Joey hasn't had much time on lawnsite the past few days, has Nate been out of the office again?

Here's what I just posted to the irrigation thread, where someone posted the original eBay link.

I think even in the higher income areas of the SF Peninsula, landscape design and installation work is slow... she could be testing the waters.

Talked to a landscaper friend yesterday who told me one of his high end maintenance customers let him go after several years and told him she'd lost 50% of her portfolio in the market.

Also says a lot of his older customers are living off the interest on long term bonds, and when those bonds mature, with current interest rates being a lot lower, he figures landscape maintenance will be one of the first things they cut.

Oh no way Gregg, this post will have to go. We are not supposed to get off topic on lawnsite by bringing up business conditions.

Moderators!!??

Sorry Mike. Lapse of judgment. I can talk about bongos again if you prefer.

Ebay

It's tough to sell on Ebay if you have no history of selling. I know I buy and sell on Ebay from time to time but I will NEVER buy from anyone who has no rating at all (unless its an item less than $20). But to sell a lighting design without any track record on Ebay will be tough.

Upscale homeowners looking to save money on ebay for their custom design needs with someone they never met or to whom they've never been referred, nor someone that will walk the property with the client, or even know confidently the name of the company that is going to reliably install the system and maintain it.

Nice short cut. A waste of five minutes to log into ebay and type up the service.
