Compost spreader--question

I saw an Earthway advertisement for a high output spreader that is supposedly heavy duty enough that it will spread compost. Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone used this spreader or one that is similar. Will it work for smaller lawns or is it a waste of time?

That is what I was thinking. A wheel barrow, shovel and rake. I have looked into the Eco spreader. Maybe in the future. Thanks.
