First off- curtis- thanks freakin hilarious! Nice one!

zab- I'll answer your questions according to the order you posted them so I donít get confused lol:
1- I do have a Class A CDL with Combo and Airbrake endorsements.
2 &3- I went with my current setup for a combination of reasons. A 550 dump/ utility cannot pull a big enough trailer to haul my equipment on legally. Ya, a 550 can physically pull a trailer that big, but I like to do things legally for a variety of reasons, one of which is my own and other's safety. A service body would only have worked if it was custom made to be able to pull a gooseneck trailer. So that choice was out since I could not afford to custom build a truck.

The way I justify owning my current truck is exactly that, from a business point of view: EXUDING A QUALITY IMAGE. People laugh, but I take clients out in my vehicle all the time to look at bigger and bigger jobs and every time my client comments about how nice my vehicle is, both inside (I clean it regularly) and outside with my companyís signage. IMO, when combined with our company uniforms, ads, correspondence, equipment, and most importantly the high quality results of our jobs, itís just another sign to my customer that I take great pride in my image and my company and will take care of them, as the customer, in the same way. I want my truck (as well as everything else), to be a signal to my client that we are in this business for the long haul and that we truly care about every detail, whether it be a clean truck, a well presented project proposal, or a fantastic looking project with no hidden shortcuts that will pop up in 10-15 years.
From a money side of the equation, a 450/550 with a custom body would cost relatively the same. Also, since I basically work (and sleep sometimes) out of my vehicle, I want to be comfortable in it. It's one of the only "perks" I get right now.

I actually just rode around for 100+ miles all morning yesterday with a client looking at a large project and then did another 200+ miles that afternoon. Letís just say that my Nav system was very helpful trying to find random spots and that my butt was comfortable sitting (and lying down in to take a nap in the afternoon) in those leather seats lol!

Basically, my thoughts on company image can be summed up in the following line: Positive perception coupled with fantastic results leads to success.

Looks good Andrew! Glad to see your keeping busy! And for the truck idea, its deffinitly working for you. I should of gone with a setup more like yours but with a g/n dump trailer instead of having 2 different vehicles and large payments. Anyways keep up the good work!

Very nice brochure. I totally agree about the truck and keeping a presentable image. I worked for a landscaping company during the summers while i was in high school and we would wash every vehicle at least every other day. All the equipment we used that day would be power washed, greased, and checked over at the end of every day and about once a month every truck would go to a detail shop owned by a friend of the owners to be waxed and all done up. His fleet is all color matched to a dark green, including tow behind compressors, trailers, and hand tools like shovels that he has had custom painted. Someone looking from the outside looking in might think that he is making to much money and maybe taking advantage of the customers but he feels that his equipment is the first thing they see and his services reflect his equipment and personel.
