Can the 50d can handle it without being tippy?

According to the load chart on the machine the machine will handle it all the way out to its max reach at 18'- it'll be tippy at that distance but it will handle it. For the majority of my work it will be within 10-15' of the machine and should be fine. I'll find out for sure once it is installed though.

Thinking of getting a US Mower? I'll be more than willing to give feedback on the unit as soon as I get it working in 3 wks.

Arp,Is your 50D a long or short stick,I added the extra counterweight to my 35D and I have a 700 lbs mower head and I can work a full reach on a side hill and keep the uphill track on the ground. You might look at getting the extra counterweight for your 50D.

Mini- my 50 is a long stick with the extra counterweight. With the cab and long stick (minus mower) the 50 weighs 11,700 lbs. I'm glad to hear your 35 does well with that kind of weight.

ARP I keep hearing so many contradicting things.LOL Thats why I keep asking so many questions.
I spent some time talking with the Seppi distributor today.

The lifting chart is without thumb or coupler so keep that in mind.

No problem AWJ- ask away!

You are correct on the lifting chart not including the couplet and thumb weights (I forgot to include those in the machine weight then as well.) The lifting chart as pasted on the window of the machine states all weights are based on a base machine without thumb, coupler, and cab.

I figure if nothing else, if the machine is tippier than I want, I'll have some extra counterweight made up. The folks at US Mower seemed confident that my machine will be more than enough to handle the mower. We'll find out

Which way are you leaning on a mower? Your 161 should be able to handle a good sized unit.

Seppi quoted me approx 6900 for the smallest unit they offered. But the response was so slow, I had already finalized with US.
