I had the T242 right after it came out, very pleased. It's good for grass but don't try to but anything thick. I was gonna get another FS130 Stihl but my BR550 blower, my only other 4mix, has had trouble after trouble and it's only a few months old. So when Shiny came out with the T282 I got one, I love it. We grad both and one the 282 hits the thick stuff and the 242 does just trimming. I will probably never buy another Stihl. Stihl is great if your a small operator, under 50 lawns a week, but if you want to more work get the Shindaiwa.

How does the weight feel on the 282? And how much did you spend?

I've notice the weight specs are similar to the 4-stroke but one is rated with the other without guard or something like that.

What's an air valve?

Geez, It's a trimmer. Buy one and if you don't like it then sell it and get another.

All three are good brands, and decent model trimmers, everyone will praise it's personal favorite. Since you're 6' I would opt for the T282 or FS90 just due to longer shafts. Needing to stoop sucks.

I am gonna finally get one at the end of the month my srm210 is just to much of a pos

i have a 210,about 2 years old, still using it, but its getting weak, i just got the new echo 280, and wow sounds like a mini chainsaw, super powerful , though it probably weighs about 3 to 5 lbs more than the 210 ...... its way nicer than the 210.
