Think its only 8oz. Dont like all the parts to the mtr on the new Stihl compared to the Echo. Have run both and just like Echo better. Blowers and chain saws its Stihl just my 2cents.

the big difference in the two are that the Echo's are about 65 times more commercial and better than the hondas...lol very true though.

Certain handhelds sold at Home Depot are the actual commercial models. Lowe's is more homeowner grade, Home Depot is more commercial grade.

Buy from the dealer...not the depot. Go to echo's site and search for a dealer. Dammit, how many times does this have to be said!

if there is a dealer around go to them cause they will stand behind their product. at a dealer it will only be a few dollars more expensive

Echo is alright..how many cc's are those? I personally would buy from a local dealer instead of home depot anyday, and spend the extra 50 n get a Shindaiwa thats gonna last forever

No truth to that statement at all. Both of them carry home owner grade trimmers.

And no, I don't consider an Echo SRM230 a true commercial model.

SRM 265's and up.

Home depot does sell the same unit as the dealer but the dealer carry's a bigger line of product. A srm230 is the same unit at depot and at the dealer but some dealer's carry a srm230-s which has a steel shaft. The motor on the srm230 or the srm230-s is the first line of echo's commercial units. If the model # ends in a s its a steel shaft if not its a 4 layer cable shaft. Its the same on most echo units like the newer srm265 is 4 layer cable the srm265-s is a steel shaft. Everything else is the same but the weight the cable shaft are usually a about 1 lb heavier. You have to be careful at the dealer they might say there unit is better but if it does not have the s its the same as depot. Now on warranty issues 5 year consumer 1 year commercial it does not matter were you buy it. If you register the warranty correctly you can take it to any certified echo repair to have it fixed.

See this is my problem with Husqvarna and ECHO they put quality equipment in a non servicing dealer who doesn't give a *&@% about the end customer.

For me NO SERVICE NO SALE!

See your local ECHO SERVICING dealer if you want an Echo.

If you have a local STIHL dealer I would check them out as well. Use stihlusa.com to find a local dealer. A company that is still number 1 in the world by sticking by its SERVICING DEALERS not big box stores that ruin product names with no service or bad service.
