so you want to start composting???

so you want to start composting??

how much do you want to compost, or how much compost do you need??? well the answer to that question when i ask was 7500 yards or 4000 tons. we thats just fine and great lets do it was the reply that I gave !!!!

step 1 the site, nice area with a close to the source local, zoned for the purpose intended.

step 2 permits and legal issues, and we are done with that( it is also not the topic I want to show, get a lawyer to help you with that trust me!!!)

step 3 source the materials, and equipment to meet your needs. this is a key factor in your success

step 4 have a plan, and the science to pull it off, if your unsure about what your doing hire some one to help you do it the correct way. this alone will save you tens of thousands of dollars in the long run......

ok so now to the fun part, step 5 putting it all together, this is the most fun of all, so here we go.................you want to make some compost, well lets get started

first pic is the site, here also the plant..... in plan form....

this is a commercial operation to serve several smaller applicators/ consumers and also a few more large use customers like a city or new GC. it is going to be fun!!!

it is totally scalable in size and design(if you know what your doing and don't F it up) there is a larger one in the works for next year, 28000yds, on concrete. but that is next year. in the mean time i am going to do a smaller scale just to show that one off to the smaller guys that want to,

Nice op TG! Where are you getting your source material from? Looks like some stable bedding, green waste ....?

Those trees you planted are all white with no branches .... did you whitewash them.

we are getting sourced materials from all over, about 80 % aged green waste. the rest is all sorts of manure and some bio-solids, so far only 20 tons dry, to add to the mix, it all gets a special ACT added at the final blend cycle and we have been sourcing many other smaller amendments. some native lime stone in small doses. but its an up hill battle with transport and tests are the final word. it has to be up to spec before it goes...
