Stick Edger - almost ready to buy
Ok - I'm in the market for an edger, but I'm not in the market of spending around $500 for a top end stick edger. So, I've found the following for under $300 and would like some opinions on what to go with.
Husqvarna 125E - 1.1 HP - $260.00 Tanaka TPE-26PF - 1.3 HP - $264.00 ECHO PE230 - not sure of HP - $260.00ish The edger will see about 10 days of work each year, tops. I do the majority of my edging with a shovel, but wanted something for the day long jobs. Looking to cut that day long job into a half day long job.

The little echo 200 works well for me... it does struggle a little if you come across a property that hasn't been edged. but for regular routine edging... it does just fine.. it's considered a homeowner model.. but mine's going on 2 years commercially... it's your money... get what you need

I run an echo pe-260 and a pe-230 on a regular basis, I prefer the 230 for day to day lawn edging as it is lighter. I have recently dedicated the 260 for heavy duty action with the trench blade for bed shaping.

I did not want to spend much on my edger, so I just decided to get the Stihl FC 55, I have put it to the test on my girlfriends yard (way over grown) and it cut through with no problem. It did not even bog down on me once! It is a $250 stick edger... Just my opinion

I second the stihl fc55, I bought three years ago and it's been used comercially every since. I think I gave $269 but it's been a champ. My blower is 5 years old and it's a bg 55 my weed whip is 2 years old and it's also the 55 series which is all the homescaper series which still runs like new today.
