Accountant's fee's

What do you guys pay for an accountant to do your annual business taxes? I'm a solo guy and I got a bill for $495. Sounds pretty high for a one man operation.

My mother in law who is a bookeeper will help me out throughout the year if I need help on how to post something in QB so it's not like I call him thorughout the year and he's getting back at me.

Your costs sound about right to me. I pay around $800/year.

I pay $600 for the corporate taxes to be taken care of, and $200 for the personal.

Yeah, it sounds about right for a small op ... they charge about $ 150, or more, per hour !!

If you've got a good accountant he may not be costing you anything when you think about it. He is likely getting the most out of current tax laws Then say your mother in law. No offense to her it's just impossible for someone who's not a cpa to keep up on all the tax laws. Think your price sounds fair.
