Cintas Uniforms...

We are trying a uniform company this year. I was so tired of telling everyone last year that they looked like bums. I handed out 100 shirts in the beginning of the year and I swear non of them got washed. Anyone have anything to say about Cintas?

Before I went full time The hospital I worked at had a uniform service
Cant remember if it was Cintas or not
From an employee stand I liked it
Limit the guys uniform options
we had some wanted pleats some didnt
long sleeve/short sleeve stuff like that
It will make start up go smoother

Another note
What is your policy going to be if they dont wear the uniform to work?

I'm going to keep a couple of spares at the office. If they don't fit, they need to go home and come back dressed right, 3 strikes and your out.

I worked for a HVAC company a while ago and they had Cintas. It was very expensive for the amount of employees they had.

Personally, I would not keep spares at the office for the guys. If they want to leave one then fine. If they dont come in uniform and dont have one to change into before their time starts on the clock they would be sent home with out pay and must show up to work the next day in proper uniform. This crap of "Oh its dirty" is bs, there are laundry mats all over.

I used Cintas at a past employer. You need to utilize your route salesman in order to get the best service from the company. The other thing to remember is that when you cancel the agreement or change companies, any damaged uniforms or missing uniforms will have to be paid for by you. If an employee leaves and does not return the uniform, it will be money out of your pocket. Something to plan on if you do go with a uniform company.

I called 4 companies and only had 2 follow up Cintas was more money but they seemed to be more service oriented. After using several others in the past and being disappointed I was willing to pay more. I also wanted "custom" shirts with longer tails. I want the guys to have their shirts tucked in and Cintas manufactures their own uniforms so there was no additional charge for the longer bodied shirts.

I just got them this week and so far the longer tails seem to work, only one time have I had to remind someone to tuck in their shirt. I was able to reduce the contract commitment just by asking. I got a 3 year service agreement as opposed to the standard 5 year.

I have the employees pay half and I pay half. I also have them fill out a sign out sheet for anything they are responsible for like PDA/Phone, Uniforms, Hand pruners, Hats, etc. It lists what they have when, they got it, how long its lifespan is and how much it costs to replace. No surprises for any one.

Thats a good idea. When stuff you lend them comes up missing they know exactly what they need to pay

You shouldnt have to keep spares
The uniform company provided lockers at the hospital
We were issued 11 uniforms that gave you 5 per week and 1 spare

One other note
In uniform BEFORE they clock in
Had some guys would clock in then go change from street clothes to uniform

I really like that policy. Sounds just like what I would say. in fact, I'm a strict SOB when it comes to Image.
