I own 9 commercial ZTRs. I cut MY grass with a lawn tractor. The commercial ZTRs are made for speed, time=money. As the other poster said they're heavy, will leave ruts in a soft or damp lawn and easily cause tear outs.

All mowers scalp, period end of story. You have to pay attention no matter which mower you use. Indeed some scalp less than others but they'll all do it.

Buy a high end riding mower and it'll last you 10-15yrs easily. Give just as good a cut be more comfortable to operate and you've got money left over for other toys.

You're trying to drive a brad with a sledge hammer.

I cut my own 4 acres

with my Exmark Quest 48", 23hp B&S ELS in about 2.5 hours. It cuts beautifully. I've cut some really tough grass (thick field grass 18" high) and it handled it with two passes. Given the number of times I cut a year, I have a hard time topping 50 hours a year on the machine. It comes with a three year warranty. Do the math in your situation and you might not need a commercial machine. It cost $4300 after tax.
