Beast Grass

Customer called me to ask me about a grass growing in his yard it reminds me of onion grass but doesn't smell I pulled up a clump and it has little bulbs, its tuff to cut and turns to mush when you ride over it and gets clogged under your deck and in your wheels not very scientific but any ideas on what it is and how to kill it?

Not sure, but it may be Star of Bethlehem. When mowed it turns into a green vapor with a nasty, liquidy mush left under the deck.

I have noticed alot here in NW Ohio driving by lawns. Haven't looked at it up close yet but will stop by and look. From a distance it really looks like wild garlic/onion. Seems like there is tons of it and early as we are not mowing here yet.

There are several "minor bulbs", flowers that come up in early spring. Then disappear until next year--often multiplying for next spring. Try herbicide--i am not sure what would work.

about anything would kill it as long as it is a good three way herbicide, maybe a surfactant
