My $1000 mowing truck

Thats right, I picked this up for $1000. Its a 1995 F-150 thats runs and drives great even tho it has 233k miles on it.

Good for you. Its always nice to find a good deal.

Unfortunately I had a bad situation with a $1000 F150 last year.....so Im always a bit sceptical.

Good luck to you. Hope she helps make you lots of money.

Started leaking oil and tranny fluid a couple of days after I got it. Tried to have the seals replaced several time and it didnt fix it. Decided to run it anyway. So after a month of it being in the shop I took it out for its first real day on the job. Was driving to the 2nd or 3rd lawn of the day and started to hear a tick. Looked at all the gauges and saw no oil pressure. So had it taken to get fixed. Guy changed oil pump but told me its possible I had "spun a rod" (not sure if I have that right.....im not much of a mechanic). Couldnt get oil pressure up. He checked the tranny when he had replaced the oil pump and said the tranny would be going out within a month. Also said that it probably hadn't had an oil change in 40k miles so there was a bunch of sludge buildup.....

After sinking more money into what I bought it for I decided I didnt want to spend the money to replace the engine and tranny so I junked it.

Ive always kinda wondered if I didnt mess with all the seals and just let it leak would I have gotten a years worth of work out of her instead of a $2500 hunk of metal....lol

I had a small tick when i bought it and when i changed the oil i went with 5w-40 Rottella T-6 and the tick is gone. When the oil was draining from the pan i could tell they added something like lucas because it was thick. If it lasts the summer just pulling around a 6x10 trailer and cutting grass it will pay for itself. I took it on a good 3 hour trip and it was running great and didnt give me any problems.
