Hustler's fusion blades are made by Oregon but Hustler has arranged a deal to lock up their fusion blade sales with Oregon. Oregon is not letting Hustlers fusion blades be sold to any other outside source except Hustler.

This is very smart business sense on Hustlers part, there was a structured deal formed between Hustler and Oregon. Maybe Hustler agreed to pay Oregon more for their custom blades, if Oregon did not sell their blades to another outside source. This cuts everyone else out of the competition and leaves all the profit to Oregon, Hustler and their dealers. I doubt Hustler's fusion blades cost Oregon more than 2 dollars each to produce, if that much. Hustler pays 4 then makes 15, and the dealer makes 5, you now have a $60.00 set of blades. Good business, and you have all the profit locked down to the manufacture, the parts distributor and the distributors dealer. You cut the dealer out when buying on-line, this is where you see the savings difference, you still pay the distributors profit but there profit want be as high because they could not buy from Oregon as cheaply as Hustler.

John Deere has been doing this with their parts for years, it is very smart business sense. Anything that breaks on John Deere's equipment has to be replaced with JD name brand parts, this give them the ability to charge any price they feel the public can bear, which is usually high.

Fusion blades online

Sounds like a monopoly to me ! Joking, sort of... Hustler is a great mower, but the price you pay for additions are outrageous. Parts that are specifically Hustler (flex forks etc.),I can see having to go through the dealer for. But, fusion blades made by Oregon which are offered for other mowers on the web is a little selfish to me. We are talking about a mass produced lawn mower blade. Would you want to buy your tires on your Ford truck only from your Ford dealer!! Just my two cents worth....

price

Yes Fusion blades are the best. but for the price i can buy and replace blades for less. My friend and I have been using these blades for 3 years with no complaint. Over 1000 hrs. of mowing total using these blades. they last as long as regular hustler blades.

I am slow to recommend someone because I'm always shopping for a better deal, but I have not found it so far.

Buy from your local dealer so they will be there when you need them.
