Bidding on dirt work?

I'm having trouble trying to figure out the best way to estimate a bid for doing some dirt work for a drainage problem and a french drain is out of the question. The customer just wants swells.
Any suggestions?

Sell them on Yard inlets and pipe. Get them at lowes or Home Depot.

Take a good look at what the customer wants, figure out how much time on a bobcat or compact tractor to shape, add in materials/equipment rental/time, etc then add about 30%
as a margin and go from there.
