Used John Deere 717a?

New member here. I've lurked for a while, and have found lots of useful info.
Anyway, I have found a 2006 717a for 3700.00. 48"/19 Kawasaki with 182 hrs. (homeowner use only) It will be used to mow my 2.5 acre yard. Is this a good price? Any known problems with this mower?

Thanks!

I purchased the same exact mower few months back with 130 hours, one owner, for 3500. I have seen them go for 4500 to 4800 with more hours. Yes this is a good price for the mower you are looking at if it is in good shape. You will enjoy the mower big time!

Last year, I sold mine with 95 hours for $5000. The buyer was very happy and he got one heck of a mower. I'd far rather have a 717A than one of Deere's newer models with similar specs.

I demoed an 820A last year and my 717A would mow circles around it. That little 19hp setup was a far better machine than the 25hp model I was testing. Needless to say, I didn't buy the new Deere.

Thanks for the replies. My father-in-law has a z445, and it is ok. Just isn't as well built as I would like. I've never ridden a 717, but it looks like a well made mower. The guy hasn't gotten back to me, so I hope he still has it..
