Looking for work in Dayton, Ohio area

I'm looking for evening and/or anytime weekend work in the Dayton Ohio or surrounding area. I'm trying to get my business up and off the ground. I'm not having very good luck in these tough times. I was wondering if any of you established mowing companies would have a need for an employee. Thanks in advance for your time....Kevin Fannin

Hey Kevin...I posted the same and only got 2 minor bites not even enough to scratch. Good luck on your search...I can tell you a place that's hiring for the airshow and some events... $8 an hour and you get all the fresh air you can stand! LOL

Right now... $8 a hour to sit there watching the parking lots at the airshow or access control for when people want to go for helicopter rides or when they're moving aircraft. They're hiring fast so you may want to hit them up. I think you might know of Andersons Security across from Channel 2 on Dixie. You'll need to go there ASAP cause they'll be full within the next day or so!

Hey there was a guy on Craigslist looking for a lawn worker... I didn't write the number down but said something about a small service. Sorry I didn't get all the info.

this sucks man

Every guy should have some work if they wanna work. This past spring I put out flyers and advertised on CL aboout cutting grass and doing mulching and planting etc. I only got one job and it was a fair bush trimming job and mulch etc. That one job paid my two kids in their weekly summer daycare so i ain't complaining. But I had many replies for work outside my target area and declined them. I hate driving there and giving an estimate and not getting the job so I said screw it and turn down jobs outside my target area.

So all in all...I only got one job. Heck my neighbor moved in and whilst I was cutting my grass I went up to greet her and we chatted a bit and she said if I want my grass cut...do I go to the lawn guy's truck in the street (doing another neighbor's lawn) and I said you could or you may want to have me do your yard and she said "Oh...I would not ask you to do that...your my neighbor" and I said I am prolly cheaper than them guys. She ended up doing to them and hiring them but she probably will ask me next year

So work is tough here. But I got a full time job. I just want to make extra money for a few good brewski over the summer and help defray cost for my kids daycare.

Hope you find what your looking for. I grew up in Cincinnati...

yeah people around here you have to pretty much rub elbows with or be dating one of their relatives to get in good. I have a lawn guy right up my alley and he quoted me $40 to just cut my grass no trimming or clean up... It takes me 45mins to do front and back and that's with a 22" mower...He runs 42 and 62 inch decks...

I ask him prior to the season if he needed some help and he shut me down... Oh well... I wouldn't offer my neighbors they're a$$**les!

Anyway...Still striving to get something decent...I'm working security (if you wanna call it that) standing in a parkinglot doing nothing for 4 hours a day...2 weeks $130...WOW I'm going to get rich there!
