One of my favorite features is the English/Espanol button. It's a full digital computer screen, unlike any previous controller. So with the push of one button, the text on the screen changes from "Watering Time Per Day" to "Tiempo Riego para dia" or it might change from "Type of Turfgrass: Fescue" to "Marka de Pasto: Festuca" or whatever. It does that at any time, at any stage - just with the push of one button. Pretty killer.

Jim's not a rep. He is a fan of RB like I am to the Dallas Cowboys.
Did you know (WARNING HORN TOOTING) every pigtail is tested? Not lot tested, not sample tested, every single one is tested. The company I contract to build them makes cables for the defense industry and one bad cable in a billion dollar jet will get you fired. I didn't believe it and watched them do it. Sure enough.

I say if you can speak/read English, don't let the door hit you in the arse on your way back across the border. |

In my opinion how can you have an ET controller without an anemometer???
Hunter is the only one that offers an affordable weather station with one. I have no idea how well it works but why doesn't Weathermatic or RB add one on theirs? I am really excited RB came out with this and will be speaking with my supplier tomorrow. |

It's a cost thing. They are expensive! Have you seen the cost of that add on??? $450 list price just for that anemometer!!! The thing is they can get E.T. dialed in pretty dang close just by using historical wind speeds (per month) for your zip code. Take a look at the SWAT testing they did on this unit. Most zones were off from what actual E.T. was by around 1.5%. The very highest zone in the test was off by a little over 6%. That's better than almost every E.T. product out there - and WAY WAY WAY closer than what we've all been getting with traditional time-based controllers. So when you're getting that close with your unit, is it really worth spending an extra $450.00 just to get a tad closer???? I think the consensus was that they can get pretty dang close just using historical wind speeds rather than having to spend the money on something to measure exact current wind speeds.

Hmm...you are convincing. To be honest, I had no idea what that add on would cost, although I am sure it wouldn't be 450 itself, the amount of programming that would probably have to be done to calculate ET based on wind speed would probably drive it waaay up.

Ohhh, so they have one that you can add on? Now, that is pretty cool, at least it gives you the option...one that WM doesnt offer that I am aware of.

Just to be clear... Hunter has one that you can add on (list price $450). But Rain Bird, so far, does not. Again, I think the consensus was that it wasn't necessary and not worth the cost. So RB has opted not to have one...so far....
