Talk to the homeowner about it. They may not be concerned about it as long as it doesnt look too bad. Fliping the trimmer works to clean it up a little, but watch out for the FENCE.

I just make the effort to turn the trimmer well enough to get it.

In Texas, you need to be licensed to put down pest and weed control.

Exactly. Throttle up then let go. Move the head in there and let the inertia do the work. Repeat at every post, kinda sucks but you only need to do it every other month or so.

Maybe I'm not understanding the problem but...

Can't you just walk around to the other side to trim??

Unless of course it's an invisible fence and they make you wear the shock collar when you trim.
