timing for kawasaki

I started rebuilding a kaw FB460V ES36 with no shop manual, its on its way. Can anyone tell me if the timing needs to be advanced like some other small engines, or are the timing marks to be lined up exactly? Also the torque specs for connecting rod cap. It's my first time rebuilding a kaw and any help would be most appreciated. Helping out a friend who is starting a scape business and doesn't have much $$ to have it done prof.. It was off a second hand scag that looks to have had the bottom plain bearing replaced, unknown to him. The machine lasted 1 season and the top bearing failed so here I am and figured what the hell how much harder can it be then fixing briggs (mistake #1)

Stumbled onto your site and have become addicted to it.. It's a great resource and from what I have been reading alot of people are very willing to help with their experience and knowledge

Kawasaki timing marks line up. I will defer to someone with a shop manual about the rod caps. I only have the shop manual for the OHV singles.
