New Holland Boomer TC29D

I'm looking at small tractors, and leaning towards this model. I did an internet search and got really positive feed back.

I want to use it for aerating, bush-hogging (5' rotary cutting), front bucket work (mulch installs and light landscaping), and slit seeding.

I've looked at JD, and Kubota, but like the HP and the super steer of the New Holland.

Any opinions on these tractors?

I like Boomers too, but I'd move to the TC33 jusy a bit bigger and able to handle landscape rakes when you move up.

I've looked at the Boomers. What's the reliability? I currently own 17HP Kubota B7200. Too small. Looking to upgrade in near future.

The Boomers are very good. They run a Shibaura diesel. Very
torquey and reliable. Pull harder than the equivalent Kubotas or
JDs. I've seen previous series run out to 10-12 thousand hours with no problems. To run a 5' slasher you'd need more power.
Go for the TC 33 or larger. The supersteer is great.

not being smart here but why wouldnt the 29 pull a rake?

A TC29 only has 26 PTO horse power, thats really the minimun for some attachment, also you would be running lighter attachments not meant for commerical use. a move up in HP allows you to get heavier ones. More $$ up front but longer service life over the long run.

I've also found out that a 29d is the exact same tractor, same size engine as the 25d. The extra power is in the fueling.
A 33d has a bigger engine too.

There are some good deals on the 25ds now, because they are discontinuing that model.

The 25d, 29d and 33d have the same size chassis, just power differences.

i have not looked at the 33. how much more is it than the 29? i am getting a price of 11,500 for the 29 (hydro 4wd) and 4100.00 for the loader for it.

Not bashing here. I have a JD 4400 and a friend has a NH 33D. It is a really nice mowing tractor but I have used it for some bucket and 3pt grade work and was not at all impressed with the power. I have demoed some of the larger ones (35-45 hp) and thought that for the size of the tractor I was still better off with my 4400. I do like where all the knobs and switches are on the NH. But I just ordered a 4410 JD which is the new model and they have addressed most of the issues on the 4xxx series. I like the Hydrostat peddles better on the JD. I can't seem to get used to the rocker pedal type, could be my big feet. Hope I helped.
