I charged $40.00 for the shrubs I did today. It took about an hour, but would have taken less time if I hadn't disturbed some yellow jackets.

I try to estimate how long it will take and give people a flat price. I shoot for $40.00 - $50.00 an hour. I don't quote an hourly price because the customer usually thinks it's too much. They don't know how long it will take, so a flat price may sound cheaper to them. It's hard to estimate exactly how long it will take, so how much you make may flutuate some.

Small shrubs can be knocked out in no time once you've done them for awhile. Watch your legs as those gas powered clippers can take a hunk out of your leg if they slip and come across your leg.

Just "trimming shrubs" should always be part of your regular maintenance. You should do it with scissors, if it's just a trim.

$50-60 hr for 3 hrs or less. $40-49 hr for more than 3 hours. Also depends on the difficulty, ie topiary, hard to reach or get to shrubs.
I always charge a lot for taxus, because I hate trimming taxus.
