We made an island.

Cooking lunch.

We had to wedge in a new 2x12 for the stairs. A joist in the middle of two others had rotted out with the outer two still good.

The basement ceiling was being held up by a pipe which trapped all the debris. Took forever to beat it down. You could actually stand on a pile of plaster held up by the pipes.

The last step is a doozy.

Water heater that had somehow not fallen through the second floor.

New front entrance to catch anyone we don't want in the house.

Water heater was unfortunately still full.

And the almost finished product.

Evening views.

Finishing up the last of the first floor.

Scaffolding inside to get to the second floor.

Trying to get the medallion down. My brother broke part of it, but we got it mostly intact.

Wrecking the kitchen ceiling.

And the pile of debris.

Had to cut apart a big steel sink and cabinet.

Give me dirt anytime. Shoveling this stuff sucks.

Doing a little golfing with plaster.

Burning more wood. Got another 40 yard dumpster coming this weekend to load the pile up.

Masons scaffolding.

This is right about the point the tornado sirens went off and we ran out of there as quick as we could.

The results of the storm. No tornado where we were, but there were some weak ones nearby.

I bet you want a stoplight too. No, it did not come with the house.

Just a little water inside from the storm.

Did a little equipment hunting. The new I-70 Mississippi River Bridge is being built a few block from my house. Manitowoc 777.

We have a makita 12" diamond saw which I believe is the same as a Dolmar?

I actually like it over the Stihl's we have. I feel like the Stihl has been set up for a left handed user. The pull start is on the outside for me, and the air intake is on the inside. It likes to suck my pant legs into it and such.

Good saw, runs strong, air filter assembly is easy to clean, bigger fuel tank than the stihl it seems by far, good power. I like it.

To answer the question about the saw that I never got around to, yes it is a 14" Makita. It was a great saw until we got a scored cylinder this summer cutting a floor and it won't hold compression now. We got a 14" Stihl as the replacement. The timeline for the project is pretty open ended. In the multiple year range at least.

It's been a few months since any pics got posted. Some of this will be from my house project. Others are from some work we did this summer in between a lot of other stuff.

Picking up the bobcat to load a roll-off dumpster.

Another 40 yard roll-off.

How do you get grease all over your back?
