Odd Ball Hedge trimming Idea

I have come to the conclusion that i do not have enough hedge trimming jobs to afford a nice gas hedge trimmer!! SO i thought of this... What about taking my current electric hedge trimmer and my generator. Have the generator run in my dads truck then just get a heavy 100ft extension cord. For where i can't reach i will still have my hand hedge trimmers.

The only problem is i think that it is to REDNECK!! I still want it to look professional though.

I think its a good idea. You can buy a caheap set of gas trimmers for around 100$. I paid 400$ for my Kawasaki, but I do alot of trimming.

Cables are really annoying for hedge trimmers.

A shindaiwa 22dh will set you back $270 and should last very long.

Its really NOt that bad of an idea. I've been doing this stuff for along time and ya know what? 1 of my biggest problems is the poor gas these days(we have that reformulated **** here). My hedge trimmers sit in the trailer all winter and come Spring they need to run (like now) So, even though "I'm a professional" I've kicked around the idea of going w/ electric.
1. Its "enviromentally considerate"
2. Electrics are lighter
3. No gas problems
4. they're cheaper to purchase
My idea would be to see if I could run some hedge trimmers from the truck via a power inverter instead of using a generator-yet another machine/motor to maintain
