That confuses things. Bobcat still produces Bobcat equipment. They are owned by Schiller.

Yah the machines themselves really havent changed much in 20 years probably. Bobcat and Bunton are the same machine(Bunton gets some extras tossed on making them more expensive).

Bobcat also makes ZTR's for Woods and Craftsman now.

Bobcat is a brand. The bobcat ZTR's are made by Schiller Grounds Care in WI. The skid steers, loaders, and such Bobcat brands are owned by Doosan Infracore, who purchased them from Ingersoll Rand in 2007.

Here is the BOB-CAT Timeline from their website...

1940 The Wisconsin Marine Company formed.

It manufactured boat hoist equipment,

floating docks, piers and underwater

salvage equipment.

1950 The first BOB-CAT product was designed

and built. Our two-stage Snowthrower was

the sole power product for 20 years.

1974 Wisconsin Marine is dealt a severe blow when

a fire destroys a major portion of the factory.

1975 Wisconsin Marine rebuilds and launches

a 12 trimmer mower, 21 push mower, 32,

36 and 48 midsize walk-behind mowers

and a full range of riding mowers.

1979 Wisconsin Marine bought 40 acres of

land in Johnson Creek, Wis. and built a

90,000 square foot manufacturing

facility.

All four of the facilities moved under one

roof in Johnson Creek and a new street

was named, BOB-CAT Lane, with the

manufacturing facilities address being

One BOB-CAT Lane.

1981 Ransomes Sims and Jefferies buys the

remaining shares in Wisconsin Marine and

forms a new company called Ransomes

America. The Johnson Creek, Wis. facility

is called Ransomes Inc.

1988 Ransomes America purchased Steiner Turf

in Dalton, Ohio.

1989 Ransomes America purchased Cushman Inc.

which included the Ryan Turf Renovation

Products and Brouwer Turf in Keswick,

Ontario, Canada.

1998 The Ransomes PLC Worldwide group was

purchased by Textron Inc. and formed a

division called Textron Golf, Turf & Specialty

Products. In late 1998 the Bunton product

line was moved from Louisville, Ky. to

Johnson Creek, Wis. plant.

2005 Launch of the Predator-Pro.

2006 Launch of the FastCat.

2006 Textron sold the Johnson Creek facility

along with the commercial brands

BOB-CAT, Bunton, Ryan and Steiner to

JEP Management. We formed a new

company called Schiller Grounds Care, Inc.

and produce the highest quality

commercial equipment requested by landscape

professionals. In October the Brouwer

brand and all of its products were sold to

Kesmac of Keswick, Ontario, Canada.
