Toro z master help

I have a toro zmaster mower. Its a z325 mower same exact thing as a walker mower. When i hooked up the battery charger to it i hooked up the cables incorrectly. so it sparked. But now i cant get it to start. i have gone through the machine completly 3 times and checked all the fuses but none of them are popped. would anyone know what the hell is wrong with it.

check your switch and all relays the problem is most likely in one of those spots. (use multi-meter)

did you find the three fuses inside the housing under the keyswitch panel? Does it crank and not start or no crank?

My guess would be you may have fried the voltage regulator.

Should be about $40.

Mounted on the left side (facing the rear of mower) under the shroud below the coil right around the spark plug.

Is there a diffrent way of getting to the voltage regulator. i cant get the shroud to come off because the hydro lines are fitted on the shroud.

mine must be a little different because the reg is just held on with two small bolts on the outside of the shroud and I can move my hydro lines enough to get to it. while you have it off check the inside of the terminals on the plug I was having a charging issue that killed a battery twice and it was because the plug had opened up a little and was sliding off during use. I think you can order parts from toro.com when you look up the parts there or it directs you to someplace that can direct ship parts to you.

Website for parts is Mowparts.com which is a sponsor of LawnSite. You can look up parts at Toro.com. With the model of the unit I can help you with a link to the parts page or give you a part number.

Basically the Coil is wired in through the voltage regulator. If you fried the regulator by crossing your terminals you "shouldn't" get spark. No spark no fire as you already know.

On my Z453 I had to take the hydraulic reservoir off by the two bolts on the top and then take the shroud off. Basically I took all the bolts out of the shroud then took the bolts out of the reservoir. Once the shroud was out I hand tightened the reservoir bolts. Then the voltage regulator should be on on the left facing the mower from the back. That is on a Kawasaki, and I'm not sure of which engine you have on there.

Engine info would be good for parts as well.

I pulled the shroud off earlier today.i had to remove a hydro line that was going to the radiator to get the shroud off but when i inspected the inside all that was there was the radiator and lines.
The motor is a Kohler 25hp motor. I will try and get pics tonight or tommorrow.
