Mower Poll: Part the Second

OK, figured the easy way to do this was to start another poll to run in conjunction with the first, and give more choices. We'll just ignore the "other" votes to this point.

I really love the Hustler I have now. There is a really really good dealer about 15 minutes from here. Mikes Lawn Equipment in Harrah, Oklahoma. Of course, I have never tried anything besides Hustler, but I'm completely satisfied with them.

However, I was at a Kubota dealer looking at tractors. They had some mowers sitting out. One was a diesel with a 72" deck on it. It was a Z turn but the front two wheels were on a tilting bar. You can open this little hatch on the front and turn spin this bar and it rotates the horizontal bar up about 45 degrees, providing an onboard jack for lifting the mower up servicing under the deck. Was a genius design and I would love to see something like that on a Hustler.

I think everyone missed this second poll to go along with the first.

I voted for Dixie Chopper. The choppers cover alot of ground fast and cut very nicely at high speed (including the top speed). The mowers are very well built and have some very small, yet nice details. One of these small details is the fans that are on top of each of the main pulley's on the deck. These fans help to disperse any clippings that collect on the deck. It is something that is a small touch but one that helps really keep the mower deck clean of debris. If you really look closely at a chopper you will see that they are built to last and very heavy duty, they also have a great warrenty (probably one of the best in the industry).

My second choice would be a Deere but not the 800 series, it would have to be the new series that is coming out soon. If you can hold off for a few more months you could try one of the new deere's and see what you think...I hear they are pretty sweet.

Definately go out and demo as many as you can and keep track of what you like and dislike about each unit.
