I need to bid a job to level a burm with topsoil. I have estimated that it will take 50 yrds of soil. I plan to use screened topsoil because it is so easy to work with. For this job I will have to rent a tractor with loader and box( will cost $200) Should I price this job by the yrd. or just a set rate. I am estimating 50 yrds. and think I'm real close, Maybe few more or less. What do you charge per yard to install and level topsoil. I will sod the area and know the price for sodding but not sure how to charge for the soil installation.
Thank you.
Ssouth

Using a tractor, figure by the job. What are the dimensions of this area? Dont forget to add 20-25% to the soil figure to take into account compaction.
Bill
