I have been hearing about a BB push to talk. Does anyone have one, or have you heard of it? I forget the model #, Verizon doesen't have it yet, I think it's Sprint or AT&T.

I have been thinking about getting ptt for some of our crew, it would be nice to have it on my BB.

Honestly - I would wait for the new android phones if you can. Blackberry is decent but since switching to android based phone I spend less time trying to figure things out and more time actually using the applications on my phone. I just got a t-mobile mytouch and the interface actually makes sense and not only does it have tons of apps(not quite as many as the iphone - yet) but those apps are almost always free. The HTC hero will probably be my next phone but it's out of my price range right now. A friend of mine works for sprint and has told me most of these phones will be rolling out around christmas(not just on the sprint network). He also gave me some inside info on the wimax services that will be coming out nationwide pretty soon which should really change how we use our phones, car navigation, laptops etc...

I only have to get the phone this week so that I can get the new customer discount, since Verizon bought out alltel. And I'm thinking about getting a blackberry as my new phone.

What programs do you guys all sync to, or what programs make using the blackberry so good?

Using a blackberry(which I did for several years) was not a good experience - It was better than not having anything I guess, but there aren't any positives that I can really think of other than they were the first to really integrate push mail and integrated scheduling which was nothing short of a pain to deal with - Blackberry is nothing more than a antiquated name now that people who own businesses flock to and these wireless companies market because people know the name. I looked through Verizon's phones and they really have a poor selection. If it were me I would ebay an unlocked phone and skip verizon's BB offerings.

I just got the new Motorola Droid by Verizon. Although this phone is really marketed to teens, I think it has great business capabilities. I like it a lot more than my black berry (partially cause I didn't like the track ball navigation).

Some of the features that I think apply to businesses are;
  • Turn by turn navigation (free -- included)
  • Ability to bring up ariel view of properties through maps
  • Internet radio (nice for trips or working)
  • Push email (email exceptional with gmail)
  • Customizable apps (if your tech savvy)
  • Scheduling with Google calendar
  • Integration with Google Docs (if you download a free app)
There are a ton more features that are nice (some unique, some not). Just figured I would throw that out there.....
