energy efficent pumps

I installed a Aquasurge 2000 pump, replacing a Little Giant pump, a few weeks ago. Today I stopped to see the owners about something else and the owners were very, very happy. This new pump is saving them $80 per month on their electric bill. This pump will pay for itself in about 5 months, pretty good payback!

What size was the LG? That's a big price drop even for switching to the Aquasurge.

Tho old pump was a Little Giant 95 at 700 watts and 6.3 amps. It was a Aquasurge 3000, not a 2000. The LG spec was 4000 gph and it did not seem to be putting out near that amount.

I've been using Anjon pumps and they seem to be a good pump for the price and the energy savings. They advertise at 300gph is 150 watts and the flow is nice. Thier 4200 gph is rated at 250 watts and the flow is good with both being a pretty good head pressure pump. 700 watts is insane for the LG!
