JD F525 deck switch problem ??

One time out of 3 the deck start up switch does not start the deck. The switch is hard to toggle as well. I'm about pull it apart to put a meter on the switch and check but wondering if the problem is down stream somewhere. I am not sure what the switch turns on..... solenoid?? Is there a known problem with the deck start up? Thnxs

It's an electric pto clutch, so the power goes from the switch to the clutch. I would check all the wire connections that might be your problem.

Update... I sprayed some contact cleaner into the switch and worked it a bit. With my glasses on LOL, I noticed the switch has a built in safety feature. It is designed to be lifted up before rocking it forward. I didn't realize this and was in error forcing it through the interloc

It works much better now.

Thnxs for the into on the clutch. Read all about it on the net.
