Pluger PL400 vs Lawn Solutions

I am starting a one man aeration business in Northern California and am trying to decide between the Plugr PL400 and the Lawn Solutions unit. The yards out here are relatively small (on average 1,000 sq ft or less) but the terrain can be fairly hilly. Anyone have experience with both machines and their performance. Is it worth the extra $1,000 for the Lawn Solutions aerator? Any input would be appreciated.

I have a Pluger PL800 and a Lawn Solutions walk behind. I love my LS unit. I do not like my pluger800. For lawns as small as you are doing, the LS would be far superior because of it's hydro drive and it's ability to aerate in reverse. Lawns that are 1000 sq. ft. will have lots of stops and starts and the reverse, will help you tremendously. Add the fact of aerating everytime you are in reverse, you become that much more productive. You will make up the difference in price less than 2 days. If you have a lot of slope, the pluger will wear you out.

I enjoy using my LS wb and will be looking at purchasing their stand on/rider unit for next year.

I purchased my LS walk behind this spring. I did demo the ryan, plugr and lesco units. The LS machine is far superior, no question.

I have the Plugger 850HD and like it. I did get it almost for free.

If you're looking for new equipment, go to the GIE-EXPO http://www.gie-expo.com/ and test them out.

I'll be at the Nutrients PLUS booth. If you have any interest in great fertilizer, stop by and ask for me.

I have a Pluger, but cannot comment on the other. I love it for large flat properties. Hills are no fun, so any hydro I can see an advantage. What are the cost differences?

Just checked out their web site - Looks like a good unit. No dealers around me to demo however. Price seems fair - it will pay for itself quickly!
