Dt 466E

Looking at buying a truck with this engine but I have heard conflicting stories about the E or electronic version, truck is a 2003 with 70 000 miles. What are your views on this engine? I have been told to stay away from the "E" version...

When I rebuilt my 98 DT466, I got alot of shop time at International here in Salt Lake. The only thing I can remember that sticks out in my mind right now is that repair costs were higher with the E model.

I don't see any problems with them. The only expensive parts are the injectors. What size of International is this ? Single axle or Tandem ?

Not much you can do the old mechanical engines won't pass the smog test in Vancouver. The low sulphur fuel plays h*ll on the injection system of a old mechanical engine.

I wouldn't be too worried yes the 466E has some problems but that was the first versions. Make sure you set up a account with Co-Van service dept they are the bigger cornbinder dealer in Vancouver.
