Walker MSGHS experiences?
In my research of Walker GHS units, I have found little information or testimony for the MS. Obviously this unit is not intended for production or heavy commercial use.
Anyone own, demo, or have experience with this model? Is it better suited for the 36" or 42" deck? Fuel tank size adequate at less than 2 gallons? Is it grossly underpowered? Will it handle the speed up kit? Is the smaller blower proportional to the unit size? Pricing? |

I have a 48" GHS Walker w/20 hp Kohler on it. I love the machine, its nice a quiet, cuts unbelievable. Saying that, the 20 horse seems a little bit underpowered sometimes, depending on what your mowing. I couldn't imagine trying to use a 13 horse on any sort of hill and expect to mow any type of taller or thicker grass with it. I don't know what pricing is like on those, I'm sure there cheap, but theres a million Walkers out there for sale. I'm sure for the price of a brand new MS, you can get a fairly nice used MT or MC.
As far as speed up kits im almost positive they all use the same style hydro pumps and final drives, so it should accept the speed up kit like any other Walker...however don't quote me since I haven't seen the machine myself. As far as deck size I would definitley go with the 36. Something with that small of a motor would probably work a little less harder with a smaller deck. Also I would get the smaller deck mainly to get through gates. I'm also sure the blower would be all set with the size of that unit. Good luck with your search for one. If i see anything on pricing on one of those I will let you know.

The MS is fine for a 36" GHS deck, but for anything bigger, or to mulch, you will want to move up to a MC or MT.
