Newbie - Advice Needed

First of all...great forum. I feel really lucky to have come across this.

With that being said, I am hoping one of the veterans can help me out a little.

I am considering starting a lawn care business. But the catch is I don't know anything about lawn care. I am considering hiring everyone for the jobs. I simply would like to oversee and do the marketing. I live in Fresno, California and would need to purchase the equipment. Can anyone tell me if it is worthwhile and what all I need to get started?

I am considering putting a ad in the newspaper for employees but what would I pay without any accounts as of yet?

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

start buying used equipment from craigslist.

buy a used walk behind mower, trimmers and a blower also get a small trailer.

You'll probably need to look for potential clients before hiring anyone.

I do have a push mower...but trimmer and blower I would need.

This is one thing I have debated...if I look for customers and can't yet do the work, isn't that bad?

Go back to school and go into a different line of work. If you are not doing the work, you won't make the money.

I think you should pick up used equipment and start working the company yourself. As you pick up more accounts you can then start hiring some help and go from there.
