picking up leaves
Okay, so the fall is sort of officially here with the rain and wind bringing down a LOT of leaves and sticks....I'd like to know how your guys' mowers pick up the leaves and not 'spit them out'.
My mowers are 2-Exmark 36s and 1 Exmark 48, as well as a 36 Stander. I'm having problems with the spitting the leaves out, so now I have to go over and over them before the mower will pick them all up. This is DEF frustrating when it's windy out. I've heard several things about blade height in relation to deck height. Would these mowers pick up better: if the blades are lower in the deck with the deck very close to the ground? if the blades are higher in the deck with the deck very close to the ground? if the deck was higher off the ground and the blades lower? OR if the deck was higher off the ground with the blades higher? I'm thinking of slamming the mowers as low as they would go, then raise the blades a little bit, or should I go lower with the deck and blades? Thanks. Chris |
